BCC vs BRFC 29th April - Barrie Nichols Memorial

posted 26 Apr 2011, 12:57 by Unknown user

Barrie Nichols was a great supporter and friend of both Banbury Cricket and Rugby clubs, he brought his natural enthusiasm and sense of fun to each club for many years and both are poorer places for his passing. In his memory the clubs will contest for the Barrie Nichols trophy – THIS FRIDAY the bar will be open all day (from noon).

Cricket and the BBQ will get going from 2pm.

The cricket is a 20/20 match between Barrie’s two favourite clubs Banbury Cricket Club and Banbury Rugby Club... it should be very entertaining!

For members of the Cricket club it will also be the first opportunity to purchase 2011’s playing and training kit as a kit sale will be running from 3pm.

Please come and support both clubs and raise a glass to Barrie’s memory!

Free entry, Bar open all day, BBQ from 2pm Raffle's etc. to support both clubs

BCC Poker Night - Friday 26th November

posted 1 Nov 2010, 02:31 by Unknown user

After the success of Banbury Cricket Club’s first ever poker night last winter and the success of England’s Cricket team in winning the 2009 Ashes we are able to bring you another BCC first...

A poker tournament followed by all night action from Brisbane of the 1st Test as England attempt to retain the magical little Urn. Oh and Food! Lots of food!!

As an expert on both Poker and all night action in Brisbane I will again be co-ordinating affairs, with my own blend of charisma and making it up as I go along.

Here is a brief running order:

7pm: Doors open

7.30pm: Poker begins

8.30: Meal is served (break in poker)

11pm: Scheduled finish of the poker and prize giving (top prize £100 + runners up prizes)

12 midnight: Cricket begins

2am: Lunch at the ‘Gabba and Bacon & egg rolls and Coffee for us!!

7am: Cricket finishes and those left awake stagger home to bed.

The cost of this magical evening is: £15 for poker players and £10 for those who wish to spectate only. Entry is ticket only due to licensing and there will be no ‘poker but not food’ tickets sold, sorry.

The poker played will be Texas Hold’em.

Please book via me (Jimmy) 077955 66761 or though the facebook group.
If you book – you must pay regardless of whether you pitch up, unless you let us know 24 hours before the event.

Should be a cracker, places at poker are limited so get booking! All welcome
